In this blog we were instructed to chose a image of a place that we once lived. i chose this picture of Bob Marley and the beautiful coastline of Jamaica. When talking about Jamaica there are often two very different stereotypes that come to mind, one being a impoverished nation with slums overrun by the use of marijuana and political rebellion, or comes to mind is the beautiful scenery that attracts many tourist to this destination. in this picture as a citizen of this country i see the clash of both visions. the beauty of the island in witch i call home, and i see the face of the island. representing the constant fight for freedom, but also representing the marijuana use in the most religious beliefs.
